What others say

Chris Moore

Marc Heriot is driven, self-confident, proactively helpful, and really smart. I’ve known Marc for nearly 15 years and have seen him succeed in a variety of roles over the years at KPMG. I know he will continue to find and create success in any kind of organization, and I know this for several reasons:

First, Marc has an innovative mindset. He’s brought great value to our integrated operations team by consistently challenging the status quo over the years. With an understanding of workplace trends and instincts for identifying and pursuing positive change, not only has he provided innovation and inspiration for the organization, but he's served to provide the roadmap and the elbow grease of ingenuity for several new operational efforts during his time at KPMG.

Last fall, for instance, he used his working knowledge of a sophisticated software platform to initiate and engineer a proposal for configuring the tool for a new suborganization within Operations. With stakeholder buy-in, he worked closely both with the external developers based in London and then also with the broader in-house technology team to implement the vision. Marc possesses a unique combination of business acumen and communication skills that makes him an outstanding project or program leader.

Second, Marc has a very strong grasp of both technology and the consumer experience. He knows our software inside and out and has helped to relay technical information to our internal clients in a very digestible way. But he also can and does explain our products/services more clearly than frontline managers in many ways and makes the most of each opportunity to demonstrate our collective strategy as well as technology and process. For instance, on more than once occasion, I observed him step beyond his own scope to help discuss in detail and gain buy-in from stakeholders regarding the specific ways that our software could boost efficiency and ultimately streamline processes. To boot, he undoubtedly makes the most of automation in project efforts to find new and better ways to work, to provide modern or scalable solutions…  and drive results.

Finally, Marc operates with integrity and builds trust. And because of this, he has been a strong cultural fit at KPMG. He truly serves as a role model with his readiness to lend a helping hand or contribute to the dialogue. I’ve often invited Marc into conversations to leverage his objective and analytical approach to support a decision-making effort, including on multi-year engagements with significant financial impact. His interests always squarely align to the firm’s values and mission, and he uses those lenses to evaluate opportunities as well as business challenges.

On a personal level, Marc is charismatic and well-spoken, both qualities that have served him well in my estimation. He is considerate and cares about the people he works with…  in fact, I’ve seen on many occasions how Marc takes time to inquire of others on a personal level…  even offering hiking pointers and camping pitfalls to consider when the subject might come up. To say simply, Marc has been an incredible citizen at KPMG and supports his colleagues professionally and personally.

Regards,

Chris Moore

It was almost four years ago that Marc joined my team, but I had known him for much longer as he was instrumental in the review of our printer fleet RFP a few years prior to that.  Knowing Marc had detailed data analytic skills from this earlier project helped me in enlisting him to help lead the team, organize and prioritize our overwhelming volume of customer opportunities.

Marc continued to leverage his technical skillset and built a database of the struggling moments, consolidating, validating, and clarifying as he went.  Working with our customers, Marc continued to prioritize and deliver solutions, connections, and the opportunity for feedback.

Marc continued to build relationships and develop his leadership abilities cultivating mentees as his went.  His passion for helping others has no bounds.  As new assignments strayed from the original job description, Marc took them in stride and rose to the challenge, accepting the new responsibilities.  Marc dove in and became the SME of the system and provided practical solutions to business problems even when the business wasn't aware of the opportunity.

Marc is definitely more of a visual person and leverages his UX pedigree to aplomb.  He also has the ability to provide clear and concise textual correspondence with leadership and other colleagues.  Marc is hard working and self-motivated and is perfectly comfortable in the office or working remotely with his colleagues.

Marc was an incredible asset to the team and me personally.  I will miss his insights, feedback, passion and wit. I wish Marc nothing but the best.

Warm regards,

Eric Cawood

I have worked with Marc Heriot for more than 13 years. Marc and I were peers at KPMG LLP.

Marc is one of the most dedicated, hardworking, and innovative people I’ve had the pleasure of working with. His communication skills are excellent, both written and verbal.

I have worked with Marc on several large projects which were to be rolled out nationally in our organization. These projects by nature where stressful and complicated requiring high levels of strategy, planning, development, and implementation.  Marc was selected as team lead.

Marc’s strategic approach to these projects was insightful and showed a remarkable capacity for breaking large issues into manageable chunks for the team. He constantly pushed us forward with innovative ideas and improved efficiencies for a successful project.

His leadership consistently inspired and motivated team members to look beyond the task at hand, taking ownership and pride in the work we were doing. He understood intuitively when colleagues were perhaps lost or off-track, and brought those individuals back on task without judgement.  His management skills kept teams cool during stressful situations, and redirected the focus on solutions and improvements. He not only leads a team with respect but encourages others to want more out of themselves in the work they are doing.  That in itself is a rare skillset.

Marc has met every project challenge, deadline and goal presented, and tackled every problem with grace and ease. His valuable contributions to the organization are still in place today.

In the years that I have known and worked with Marc, I have developed enduring respect for both his work ethic and his problem-solving abilities.  For these reasons, Marc has my highest recommendation.  I know Marc would be a valuable asset to any organization fortunate enough to have him on their team.
